Japan Frozen Foods Inspection Corporation Conducts Thorough “Internal Management” -scandal, involving forgery of safety certificate -

Regarding a scandal involving the inadequate issuance of safety certificates for frozen food, Japan Frozen Foods Inspection Corporation announced the following thorough “internal management” measures as preventative methods on September 5, 2008: 1) strict methods of unannounced auditing and thorough hearings added to the internal auditing system by the quality assurance department; 2) reinforcement of a preventative method of double-checking system in the during examinations and issuances of certificates; 3) reconfirmation of mandatory reporting of internal risk information to the management department, in addition to set-up of a hotline to address problems; and 4) implementation of staff training for all staff including all officers.
